After ten great days in England we are back in France. While we were in England we caught up with some relatives, had the bike services and did some repairs. Aside from meeting the relatives the highlights were doing a Beatles tour through Liverpool and visiting Warwick Castle and Stratford upon Avon. While in Bosworth we visited the battle ground where Richard III was defeated by Henry Tudor in 1485, hard to get ones head around this sort of history! Then in France we went to the Normandy coast to have a look at some of the D-day landing sites and other museums and places associated with D-day. We saw a very moving 360 degree movie called "The price of freedom", it was an amalgamation of old black and white war film and current colour film, it would be so good for everyone to be able to see it, though it did leave you feeling very sad. We also paid our respects at the American cemetery with nearly 10000 graves and a German cemetery with nearly 22000 graves, they both left us feeling very somber. On a brighter side we visited Mont St-Michel, what an amazing place this is, they say there is a 1000 years of history on this site, it seams the further south we go the older things are becoming! We can't believe our luck with the weather, since we arrived in France it has been between 25 and 30 degrease with clear blue skies, just beautiful.

Mum / Marion I can empathise with you re the War Graves Mike ! and agree pity more people cant see/experience what you have. Great the weather is holding warm & clear for you too. Your Great Adventure continuies.
Janet McIntyre Special experiences of all kinds there! Good on you for visiting American AND German graves. Mont St.Michel IS wonderful. Fairytale. And perfect setting. Part of it was being renovated when I visited with Lisa. Hopefully that was all done in time for your visit. You make me laugh with your "degrease" when you mean "degrees". Can't take the bike out of the man!
Janet McIntyre Oops, got mixed up what country you were writing about (not surprising, you do get about!) and thought of Mount St. Michael of Marazion on the Cornish coast, instead of Mont S. Michel in France. Sorry!
