Glasgow was wet when we arrived, but while we were there it turned on the good weather for us. To get to Glasgow we went past Loch Ness to see if we could Nessie, to us the Loch was a bit of a disappointment compared to other lochs we had seen. We weren't able to find a campground near to Glasgow, so we found a hostel close to the center of the city. We didn't find the city that attractive, but the places we did see were amazing, and free, we had only planned on staying for one day but stayed for two because we didn't see everything we wanted to in one day. We did see the inside the council chambers mum and they were brilliant, we also visited the People's Palace, a brilliant greenhouse and local history museum. We used the Hop on Hop off bus to get around and another top attraction for us was the Riverside Museum, it has all things to do with transport and is just incredible, we also visited the art museum, which was a bit of a let down, but much to Julie's joy we went to the botanical gardens and visited the greenhouses there, the plants they had were incredible and I was very happy and surprised to see a Wollemi Pine, a very rare tree only in recent times discovered in the mountains near Sydney (Australia). Even the day we left Glasgow was fine, three days in a row, that must have been a record for Scotland, let alone us! From Glasgow we headed down through the Galloway area and had lunch in a beautiful little cafe in one of the many little villages we pass through as we go. On our way out of Scotland we called through Lockerbie on our way to what we think was the largest Monastery in Scotland. Then before we knew it we were finished in Scotland and back in England. Scotland certainly had a lot to offer, the people were great and some of the scenery breath taking, if only the weather had been on our side it would have been amazing, but there you go, we have to take it as it comes and this time it was cold, wet and windy.

Janet McIntyre It's good that you were able to take two days in Glasgow. I guess what you add in one place comes off another though. It must require some quick decision-making.
Mum/Marion So Glasgow got a - thumbs up - Yes two days a short time to see places, but glad you got into the Council Chambers, the square outside is quite interesting too. but then so are so many places, etc. Sorry you didn't meet up with "Ness" he might have turned on some warmer sunny days for you !
