From Oslo we headed to Stockholm hoping that our second visit to Sweden would be more inspiring than our first, and we weren't disappointed, even though we had the now standard rain! We stayed in a caravan park quite away out of Stockholm but the efficient Swedish public transport was great for getting us in and out of the city. Old Stockholm was great with some lovely old streets and buildings which we spent quite a bit of time wondering around, but I think the highlight for us was visiting the Vasa museum and seeing the Vasa, a Swedish war ship built in 1627 that sank in the harbor twenty minutes into its maiden voyage. It was raised in 1961 and was in that good condition that it is 95% original, beautifully preserved and quite a sight to see. From Stockholm we headed to the west of Sweden to Götenburg, we went here to see if Garmin could fix our GPS, the touchscreen hadn't been working since Røros in Norway which meant we had been navigating only with paper maps. Garmin told us the screen was broken and we had to buy a service replacement unit. We spent a couple of days in Götenburg while Garmin did their thing, it is quite a busy city despite only having a small population and again the public transport was great for getting around. We visited the Volvo museum while we were there which was fascinating. They had cars and trucks right from their first in 1927 through to their concept hybrid vehicles, we spent around three hours there. Our next stop was back to the east coast to a small town called Kivik where they have a burial chamber under a mound of rocks dated at around 3000 years old. Then it was a quick run across the bottom of Sweden to Denmark and Copenhagen.
