We decided to take on the drive to Mitchell Falls as a day trip and took off at 6:00am. The road to the turn off was a bit rough, but the road into the falls (79km) was the worst we have been on so far, it took about 2 hours. Once we got there we walked started the walk.

First amazing place on the walk was the top of Little Mertens Falls, no water running over it but breathtakingly high just the same. Next we came to Big Mertens Falls, again no water but even higher than the last one.

Finally we came to the top of Mitchell Falls - and we looked over the edge - amazing! We swam in the water on top of the falls and then continued walking around further to get a view of all 4 tiers of the falls. The size of it was just spectacular. All up the walk took around 4 hours, it was hot work but it was well worth it.

Then came the 3 1/2 hour trip back over the same crappy roads! We treated ourselves to tea at Drysdale Station and tried out their famous Kimberley Beef Burger - Yum.
