And we're already at the end of our third day in Bangkok. We've learnt a lot since being here - taxis are cheaper and easier than tuk-tuks, covering up before you enter a temple goes a long way, and that you can always get a tasty main meal for under 50baht (£1).
We started today at Wat Pho, which is home to the Reclining Buddha. It was unbelievably huge and represents the Buddha passing into Nirvana.
After a trek around the local area looking for the port, we got a ferry for 3baht across the river to Wat Arun ('the Temple of Dawn'). This was probably our favourite temple so far. You can climb right to the top but each stair is as high as your knee and less wide than your foot which makes coming down very tricky! The views of Bangkok were incredible and made us realise how much we have left to see.
After a sit down we got a taxi to MBK shopping centre to seek some shelter from the heat in the heavenly air conditioning. MBK is six floors high and a maze of stalls and shops (even including a Starbucks!).
From MBK we found Siam Square - rows of shops and stalls. We wondered around (and I saw my first Christmas tree - made out of televisions!) before getting another taxi to the Golden Mountain (another temple - who knew, Bangkok is full of them).
At the Golden Mountain we climbed the stairs to the top and were shortly followed by a procession of ladies holding a long orange cloth and chanting a prayer, led by monks (definitely our most cultural moment so far).
Walking from the Golden Mountain to our hotel, we stopped at the Democracy Monument for a quick selfie.
It's just coming up to 8pm now and we're planning on heading out to the Khao San Road for a foot massage.
Missing you all loads (and the Christmas decorations).
Peace out.
