A sunny hello from Koh Lanta, Thailand.
Our last dive on Koh Tao at Chumphon Pinnacle went well, but unfortunately we didn't see any whale sharks! We saw some absolutely massive giant groupers and some gorgeous coral fish. We were sad to have our last dive with our instructor, Man, he became a good friend.
Following Koh Tao, we hopped on a ferry to Koh Phanghan. We stayed on Baan Tai beach on the quieter side of the island for 3 nights. Sadly we missed the full moon party due to our diving delay but it was nice to relax - it's the first time in a while we've felt like we're on holiday! In comparison to the islands we stayed on in Cambodia, all of the Thai islands seem pretty big but you can still get round them on a bike in less than a day.
Yesterday we did another island hop to Koh Lanta. However it was more like a hop, skip and a jump! After leaving at 6.30am we didn't arrive on Koh Lanta until 7pm. We were told it would be a boat, then a 3 hour bus over the mainland followed by another boat to the island. We should have known to expect an additional few buses and a couple of tuk-tuks in the middle of the journey. We've become a lot more chilled with these types of situations so when we were dropped in the middle of no-where, ticketless, we had faith that someone would turn up and sure enough, a tuk-tuk saved us.
We're staying on Long Beach on Koh Lanta, the most gorgeous beach we have experienced yet! The only annoying thing are jellyfish; the sea is full of them. They seem to be pretty friendly though, but Steph is not convinced. It's been roasting here, blue sky and hitting 33c today.
Once again we're staying in a little bamboo bungalow near the beach with our own hammock. There's lots of bars and restaurants nearby and we're writing this sitting in a tree house bar under fairy lights with reggae music in the background.
We'll probably enjoy lazing around on the beach here for another few days...

Danielle (again!) God what a dump - you poor things ;-) So jealous, it's grey and miserable here so make the most of it! Mind the jellyfish I got stung by one in Koh Chang! And while we're on the subject of Chang - hope the changovers haven't been too bad! xx
Angela Wow, why dont you 2 rub it in a bit more. Im fed up with my car warning me of Risk of Ice all the time. Tans are looking good. I think Steph might be beating you there on that!!!! xx
Chloe Milham EXTREMELY JEALOUS! Wish I was there with you! Have a fantastic time lazing around. You guys are living the dream. Sounds like you deserve it after the diving course! Enjoy it xxx
