Hows it going all ?, after much debate we decided on stopping at 1770 and Agnes waters, its where Captain James Cook 1st landed in Oz, its a tiny little place unspoilt by highrises and loads of tourists, we spemt 2 days here and could easily spent a few weeks, we stayed at Souther cross hostel, by far the best hostel i have stayed at in Oz, its 3 peops max per dorm/ its sparkly clean/ pool and cheap to top it off !!, the couple who own the hostel are sound also, its a top choice for anyone heading for the town. There is surf lessons here for $16.50/few hours, we have been fleeced along this coast for hiring boards etc and its penny's here, Weve also been on a "scooter-roo" tour, its where you get chopper bikes and drive about 3 hours right around the coast taking in the sunset and scenery, it was only $39 each and you get to stop off at a bar for a cold 1 at the end, the guys a legend who organises the trip, he's a south african dude, check the pics he's the guy with the tash lol, the choppers are quality little machines also, there is also flights around the town for $65 for a few hours, the guy is nuts also he does aerobatics just for the facial expressions of the tourists (fair play mate), we only spent 2 days here but its a real nice chilled out town, even if your lying on the beach all day,ve just booked the sailing for next sat so hopefully the weather will be good, we jumped on the premoer bus once again but for 7 hours this time, so now were at Mackay, a small town about 3 hours south of Airlie, not sure exact what we gonna do but im sure we will find something ????, not much to write this blog but check the pics out of 1770 & Agnes waters, see ya.
