Arriving in Brisbane the day before the ashes there was a great atmosphere around the place. We couldn't check in for another 4 hours when we arrived so we went to the Gabba for a trial run for the next day. 10 minutes on the bus. Easy as you like. Everyone in our ten bed room was in Brisbane for the Ashes which made for good chat. Gates opened at 8.30 for a 10am start so first day we got there for about 8.45 to soak up the atmosphere. First day we had great seats, top level, square of the wicket. Broad was getting a lot of stick from the Aussies only to get a wicket every time they started chanting something. First day ended well with England on top.
This changed quite dramatically the next day and we ended up on the receiving end of banter for the Aussies. Despite the result it was a great four days.
