Couple of hours from Rainbow and we hit Noosa; and so did the rain. We checked into the Nomads hostel there and they put us in a 8 bed dorm, not a 16 bed like we'd expected. There was bloke from Papua New Guinea, and a skanky looking women from Serbia, who looked like she was on something in the room already. They asked us if we had a phone charger for a Nokia or a Samsung which we hadn't so we carried on and sorted our laundry out. The guy left and the women came over and started talking to us. She was going on about her paranoid scitsophrenic friend stealing her handbag and hiding it in the bush, and it had her SD card in there with pictures of her boyfriend on it who died three weeks ago! Then she was telling us about her ex who was in prison for drug trafficking and some guy she new who got raped that much in prison he can't go to the loo properly anymore!! I was keeping my head down sorting my laundry just saying the odd "oh right" or "bloody hell" but Mel was watching her checking out all my stuff to see what I had! They didn't have any luggage with them, just plastic bags. When we got our stuff sorted we locked up our bags and took all our valuables with us to the laundry. Luckily Mel had seen her looking at all my stuff and said we should move rooms, so we went to reception to ask and it turned out that she hadn't paid to be in the hostel and she had been thrown out the night before! So the manager went down to throw them out again and we changed rooms after they left. We were telling the girl in our new room about it and she told us the night before she had been at a room party and they were there. It was only the next day the people who had the room party realised that they had loads of stuff missing! So it's a dam good job Mel said to move rooms. After that excitement we went for a walk around town in the rain. I had my hair cut, we had a pie from a pie shop and did some food shopping. That night we were meeting up with Tom, Georgie, Anna and Aimee who had also come down to, and we went to the cinema to watch the Avengers together. The next day we didn't really do a great deal but we made sure we took advantage of the free BBQ sausages the hostel put on at night. We only stayed at Nomads for two nights, and the other two nights we splashed out on a double room in Flashpackers! It was a much nicer hostel all together an Mel was in her element with the free wine and cheese night!!! While we stayed at Flashpackers the weather improved so we did a coastal walk around Noosa national park, where we saw a wild koala swaying in the tree. We stood on top of a cliff face called Hell's Gate where the wind was so strong we could hardly stand up! The hostel also provided free surf and body boards so we had a beach day and made use of those. Noosa is a really nice place, shame about the rain but when the sun was out it was beautiful. Brisbane next, it will make a change to be in a city again.
