I have very much enjoyed seeing all the national parks and the beautiful wonders of God. But, I must admit, there is a part of me that is a city girl too. I was so excited to go into San Francisco and it did not disappoint. We started by driving over the Golden Gate Bridge and then driving downtown. I was a little leery, but we made it just fine and it was actually a pretty easy city to get in and out of. I was amazed because the man camping next to us told us how foggy San Fran was, but as we were driving the sky was super clear and I was thinking, "Great, I will be able to get a good picture of the bridge." Then we went through the tunnel and came out the other side and there was the Golden Gate Bridge shrouded in total fog. It was unbelievable, like amazing, where did it even come from? Calf. Weather is kind of crazy anyway, I mean it is 680 and beautiful sunny on the coast and just on hour in from the coast it is 1000.
Our first stop Gharirdelly Square and some awesome chocolate. They gave free pieces as you walked in the door, so we of course went to both shops twice, that was 4 free pieces of candy, YES!!!
Then onto fisherman's Warf. It was a lot of fun and at the end of the pier they had put floating pads for the sea lions to get on. It was fun to just watch them for a while. We did not do a tour of Alcatraz because Larry was a little worried about the boat trip and his seasick self. The energy around the wharf was exciting. Something we were not expecting was the museum of coin operated games starting from the late 1800's. Some of them were quite nostalgic, others were just really cool to look at.
Then on to the trolley car, I hung off the side as I had always seen in the movies. I will say the ride was a joy, and watching the workers turn the cars at the end of the line manually was quite interesting. The only drawback was the worker's attitudes. Every one of the workers seemed to take great pride in trying to see how rude they could be to the tourist who were riding. They would bark orders and just be downright ugly. That's OK, didn't ruin my ride! And the hills, wow, they are straight up and down. I took some pictures but you could not tell how steep the hills really were from the pictures. Driving a car, when you got to a stop sign on a hill, there would be a little area that kind of leveled off so you could stop before you took off. I do believe nobody could ever drive a stick shift in that town without rolling into someone.
Now, to take some pictures of the bridge as we left town. I liked this day!

Cindy I used to drive a stick shift in Seattle. Got really good at clutching and accelerating perfectly to stay in place on those inclined streets!
