Have not had any internet for the past several days so was not able to write, but I am back. We spent 2 days traveling down the coast of Oregon. I love the beach, but it was really beautiful. The beaches were very wide and flat and would be several miles long for a good walk. Then there would be beautiful rock ledges that were just beautiful to look at.
The weather along the beach was a little cool, not really cold but windy and cool enough for a jacket. Enjoyed some good seafood while we were in the area.
When we left the beach we headed inland, the area sure changed, very dry and brown. I can see why they have issues with fires. Not much rain or moisture when you get away from the beach. We stayed in Grants Pass and we got to visit with my sister-in-law, Pam and Jack Church. That was a wonderful gift along this way to be able to see them again.
While we were staying in Grants Pass, we went to Crater Lake. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the US and the cleanest water in any lake in the world. This lake water comes from melting snow. This lake is found at the top of a volcano, after the volcano erupted millions of years ago the top cap caved in creating this lake bed that is about 6 miles across and fills with melted snow. It is a beautiful blue, and you can take a boat ride to the island that sticks up inside the lake. We choose to do the circle drive all the way around the crater.
