I meet Henry in the lobby of his apartment complex at 9:30. It's taken me almost an hour to walk there along Spadina st from the City. We sign the necessary forms, I hand over a wad of notes, and then we head to the basement to move the bike. I straddle the KLR on tip-toes, this thing is tall, and hit the starter to shift it to a visitor parking bay for a few days. The short ride to the basement next door gets me itching to ride further, but as the plate has been removed and I don't have insurance, this will have to wait.
Now I've got the bill of sale I can get my insurance issued. I head back to the hostel and send the details through to the insurance company.
It's early afternoon when I get on the train to Stoney Creek. A nice attendant explains that I'll need to transfer to a few busses to get where I'm going, Dual Sport Plus, a motorcycle parts shop that sells the helmet I'm after. Tim, the sales assistant at dual sport is great and while I'm looking for a Shoei helmet I spot a $700 Arai on sale $300 (a bargain for this type of helmet) I have a good chat with Tim and he invites me out for a ride/beers if I'm in the area again. It's after 7 when I get back to the city. An a email is waiting for me confirming that insurance will be issued shortly.
