An easy but long ride along the northern shore of Lake Superior takes me from Batchawana to Thunder Bay. I've downloaded a series of French lessons on audio book and pass some of the journey learning French. The teacher is excellent and the ride goes quickly.
I spend the afternoon at a hostel a friend recommended. There is no one there when i arrive but a sign on the door provides a number. A neighbor down the road lets me take his mobile (I walk away with his IPhone!) to call the owner. There is a piano an I spend time playing until a group of travelers arrive. Marie-pier, Matt and Chloe are making there way from Quebec to Edmonton for winter. We spend the evening chatting and I get to practice the French I learnt today.
