Another great day in New Orleans - 4th of July! Headed out to town and grabbed a bit of lunch. Red beans and rice (yum) and grits (yuck). Then wandered down Decatur St and Jackson Square. Followed the sound of jazz to an amazing place called Mojitos where we whiled away a fab afternoon drinking Cajun iced tea and listening to the Soulaboogie Swamp Band on the patio. Then dropped into a tattoo parlour (yes those cocktails had kicked in) but came out ink-free. After a walk up Frenchmen St (better than Bourbon St for bars and live music) we headed down to the waterfront to watch the 4th of July fireworks - spectacular! A short hop to Bourbon st to see Donald and took the St Charles streetcar home.
