4th- 7th April Sukhothai

Another wonder of the ancient world. Here we stay at a marvelous brand new guest house with a pool which is very inviting for me just to be lazy and not see the local temples....

We hire scooter and we are off to historical park very tastefully layed out surrounding area is modern with road, and cycle tracks perfect lawns and gardens. however the temples are virtually untouched some have been restored but if they did not hae enough information they left it in disrepair rather than restore incorrectly.. Today we didnt get lost we enjoyed visiting mostly the largest of sites.. that pool was always lurking to enjoy cool swim later...

Day 2 took us even further away to Si Satchanalai another temple park but only visited by few visitors because of the distance and the Greater of the 2 is by far Sukhothai.. However it was still worth the ride...

The most striking of them all for me was the Chang Lom gaurded by 40 elephants all carved into the stone work supporting the Stupa.. amazing how these guys achieved such structures!!!
