8th 12th Chaing Mai

After almost 2 weeks is the quieter side of Thai we have to hit the city again. we are leaving from here to Mynamar on the 12th..

Unlucky or lucky for us we hit the city just in time for the Thai new year celebrations which involves drenching passerby with buckets of water.. All you can do is fight back because NO ONE is left out of this experience... We decide to hit the road for a few days and head north to Mae Hong Son.. The ride up itself was an amazing adventure beautiful scenery massive hills with lots of twist & turns. However everytime we pass through a local village people are out on the streets just to douce you with buckets of water..!! So we didnt escape the festivities... We finish day one at Mae Hong Son in a lovely little guest house the only western people their we shared the evening with the family and their many dogs!!!! What a way to spend a birthday Mark!!!

Day 2 saw us heading south to complete the nothern circuit.. passing through many hilltribe villages and small towns again the water never stopped sometimes it was actually a relief... We pass through a massive National Park Doi Inthathlon. The road goes from hard surface to sand with massive big potholes very difficult to ride.. Eventually arriving back into Chaing Mai very tired very sore bums and very wet and smelly!!!

Great Time was had.. What a great way to finish off our time in Thailand!!

Next stop Mandalay Mynamar....
