20th Aug Well we started off to reach Ubon Thailand very nice VIP bus for a change NO chickens. and we all had air con and our own seats wow this was luxury. passing through the border all OK no issue apart from not being able to change currency due to it being Saturday and exchange place not open. No worries we will change it when we get to Ubon mmh that didint happen either, same problem no ATM and no banks Oh s...t we screwed up this time.. We want to buy our next bus ticket to Bangkok they dont accept visa and we have no cash.. WE were VERY VERY LUCKY A very friendly couple who we had been chatting with on the bus heard our predicament and offered to pay our tickets which meant we are now going to Chiang Mai and not Bangkok we had to agree to go to there destination so we could pay them back. No Probs we still had plenty of time before our flight to Hong Kong. So we agree and settled into another 17hrs bus journey.. They even bought our food & drinks for the journey.. Arrived safely in Chiang Mai and paid our way without further problems. Thanks to these guys
