Hey great we have escaped from Bangkok after 5 days it was a must to collect visa's for Mynamar....

Ayuthaya is a unique little Island surrounded by 3 rivers from the train station you have to take a ferry across the river for 2bht not even 1 penny...The Island caters for many packs of dogs which the locals dont seem bothered about but every guest house has a warning of them biting if you approach their space... mmh interesting.. The monks are the worse causing the dogs to fight over scraps of food and actually laughing at the poor dogs distress!!!!

Anyway spent 2 days here doing the local temples which are dated the same as Ankhor Wat 12th Century. Even with an untrained eye you can see the likeness in the carving on the Stupa's and style of Budha figures...

We hired cycles and adopted a very nervous dutch girl who should never have been travelling on her own... The day took us too many sites The elephant Kraal where they used to keep them in stockades not much better now..!!! 10 elephants gathered in small pen, you could see their unhappiness in their eyes.. and a local guy expected us to pay to see them. We were only gazing at them from over the road.. The boy was not to happy with our response...

We cycle on to find more temples only to get very lost, very hot and very tired we returned to the safety of the town... for a recovering cold shower and few beers...
