Mark & Den's Travels
12th - 16th May Barrier Reef.
WOW needn't say more than that really, I am not going to describe every dive, you would be more than board by the time I had finished. Even you divers who are reading this... The Dive Boat was very well organised with enough space for us all to kit up on deck at the same time and relax on the sun deck or in the lounge. The food was excellent 3 cooked meals a day with nibbles out all day. So NO reason to go hungry Diving Makes you hungry enough to eat a Potato Cod have you seen the size of him on the photo board. Well we had 28 divers and 8 crew on board. with 4 Dives a day max dive time of 1hr,starting @ 06:00hrs oh my god dive before breakfast I would recommend it and make it compulsory. So you can appreciate a very busy day.The last dive of the 4 days was a night dive again very well organised providing us all with torches and glow sticks . to make us glow in the dark!!! The weather was terrible so no sunning yourself after the dive we had 25-30knots (just like the Thistlegorm) which made surface work very difficult. But the Viz was still around 20mtrs so what it would be like on a good day I wouldn't guess at it!!. water temp down to 24c and we only had 3ml shorties brrh after the hour it was getting a little cold. The special part of the trip was to venture out to Offsprey reef in the Coral Sea, mmh NEVER made it out there, skipper insisted it was too rough and he wouldn't put us in even he got there!! Hey that's the nature of the sport eh guys some days you get it right other day's it aint going to happen. We still had an amazing time 14dives not to be missed and made some new friends. Oh and we had a bed/cabin for 4 nights, got to end in a WOW!! as it all started.
