Mark & Den's Travels
Yeah have to admit I'm the train spotter the anorack!! Mark tells me this is the 3rd one we have done but hey I LUV EM!!
We leave Cairns main station and travel west into the rainforest with beautiful scenery from waterfalls to the coastline, The journey takes us 1.45 hrs of absoloute bliss well for me anyway the Anorak of us both!! We travelled through 15 tunnels via 2 waterfalls and over viaducts. It was built in the early 1800's giving access to Karunda mining area.. Karunda is a shoppers paradise they are all stood outside the shops to welcome you off the train and into THEIR shop. No thanks we are off to the river walk to see if we can spot a croc we didnt and we were probably grateful of that fact...
However we did enter the Butterfly Sanctuary some rare species because of the changing rainforest.. (See photos). This was a big achievement for me seeing how I wet my knickers if there is a moth in the room so quite Brave was I!!
