5th 7th May Townsville - Rollingstone After returning to the mainland we head off for Rollingstone only 70km up the coat but the camp site has been recommended as the best in Queensland we weren't dissapointed It was lovely just what we needed after few busy days!! Only one evening spent here the rain was so heavy we were offered the campers kitchen as a refuge instead of the tent BUT NO!! we were brave got bit wet had to dry out stuff in the morning. Theres nothing like that feeling of raindrops on your head even at 03:00hrs mmh not much longer!! We are off to Sunny Cairns see our photo of our approach it black and s***ty wet & cold mmh good ol Aus!! We spend our time here researching a decent liveaboard dont want to get this one wrong We have booked one leaving on Friday 12th fingers crossed watch this space for update!! Off we go into the Tablelands of Western Cairns. We stumble on a coffee plantation Weel we just had to cant give it up totally eh!! Jaques Coffee plantation we are greeted with a coffee liquer from the owner then guided around his plantation we had the option of a microlight flight but that would be extra!! we settled for the bus whizzed around with running commentary about the process mmh Coffee Harvester Mark in his element!! climbing on his tonka!! Wat does that do?? We finish off our tour with the best cappicino weve had since weve been here, Cant stay we are off to Granite Gorge, Climbing over BIG Granite boulders feeding Rock Wallabies, crossing creeks AGAIN!! finished off with home made Mango Icecream.. Onward to Danahue Forest to view Tinaroo Dam and lake, through the forest we should have had 4wd but NO we plough through MUD slipping sliding accelerating to keep moving if we stopped we would be there for the night.Mark is loving it!! Always knew he was mad now its confirmed!! but once through the worse we stop to see the Cathedral Fig Tree she stands 48mtrs high she is 400yrs+ and it takes 20 people to hold hands around her girth another amazing site that we just come across.. Home safely car is feeling little bruised better get it clean b4 returning her...
