We had free tickets to another thermal wonderland type place called hells gate. It was all very similar but not as colourful as what Wai-o-Tapu was! We saw a cool mud volcano but it was hard to get photos because of all the steam! It took us about half the time to get round and we were glad that we hadn't paid to go! We finished off the visit by doing some Maori type carving with a Maori guy! He was very patient and we were pleased with the end product!
From there we took the scenic route down to Taupo. The views were incredible on the way and we stopped to see the Huka falls. They were fast flowing and with lots of water we liked them!! The water was an amazing colour too. Taupo is a lovely town set around the north side of the lake which is the same size as Singapore. It is a crater lake from a huge volcanic explosion! We went to the tourist info centre and booked our sky dive! We then went in search of a camp site to think about the sky dive tomorrow! We chilled for the afternoon before going for a look around the town and a walk by the lake. We had an early night watching dvd's ready for tomorrows crazy adventure!
