Once we were up and sorted we went for a mooch along the beach. It was huge but not the sort to sunbake on! We set off down the west coast, driving through the mountains which was lovely. We stopped at Buller Gorge suspension bridge which is the biggest in New Zealand. It was very long and very narrow!! I wasn't too keen on walking across but was ok until I had to pass someone...which involved leaning to one side..a little too far for my liking! The worst part was the fact that we had to come back across it..I didn't realise this on the way over! Hmmm!
Once safely back at the camper we continued our drive and stopped in Westport for some lunch. From Westport we continued to Greymouth which was mainly a coastal road and a rather lovely one too! There were lots of oooo's and ahhhh's along the way and lots of quick stops for photos. We stopped at the pancake rocks which are rock formations in the style of pancakes! There are also blowholes there and the whole area was lovely to walk around. From there we carried on down to Franz Josef with more stopping along the way! We stopped just short of Franz Josef to admire a beautiful river which was the most amazing blue colour! We found a lovely campsite in a rainforest setting.
