First thing we walked along the beach again to see if we could see anymore sea lions, the grumpy big one was still snoozing but there were no others around. It was wet and windy and we were getting soaked so we didn't hang around! We set off from the site and continued along the southern scenic route making our first stop at nugget point. We went to look for penguins but it was the wrong time of day and the wind was getting stronger! We carried on along the coast but stayed dry in the camper! We saw lots of sea lions swimming in the water. It was quite a long drive but we carried on to Dunedin which is the Scottish town of New Zealand. We visited the I site to inquire about penguin spotting and then popped to the library for free internet while we waited for the rain to stop. Once it had cleared we drove out to the Otago peninsula in search of penguins!! It was a long road out and very twisty too! We wanted to see penguins in the wild so weren't prepared to pay to see them! We found two places where you had to pay and another site which we went to but we were to late for them. Instead we found a campsite and chillaxed for a bit. We had chance to catch up a bit on the blog from the warmth of the washing room! However, we didn't realise that the temperature outside was dropping pretty fast!! It turned out to be an icy cold, freezing night where we couldn't get warm and barely slept. Humf!
