First thing we went hand line fishing on a small boat in the middle of the sea! It was a very simple concept, a line, a hook and a bit of bait and away you go! There was a few of us on this tiny boat, in the rough, choppy waves trying to catch a fish! I was lucky as I was the first to catch one, a pretty one too, and I also assisted in catching another! They were the only two fish caught on the boat! Even the guys who took us out didn't catch one! The lads were not impressed but everyone at the resort was! Hehe!
We arrived back in time for lunch and sat with our Coral View friends playing Uno! We had some spare time before the big yellow boat came again so we made the most of the hammocks! We enjoyed our time at Korovu and were sad to leave! The two little girls who live at the resort came to say goodbye as we left as well!
Once back on the boat, it was as stuffy as ever but they had a good chick flick on so I was happy!
Our next resort was Kuata which was hit recently by a cyclone so they are rebuilding some of the resort that was destroyed. We had a lovely welcome, there was singing accompanied bya guitar! Very impressive! It was a much smaller resort and the facilities were not as nice as what we have had but the island and the people made up for that!
We wasted no time and jumped straight in the sea and were joined by two children who lived there who came to play with us!
Dinner was an interesting experience! We had a welcome, tribal style! We had to join in with their ceremony and drink Kava, yuk!! We also had dinner Fiji style, eating with our hands! We met Steph and Julian who we got on really well with and were a lovely couple! Unfortunately they are leaving tomorrow!
We watched more Fijian dancing, but with more of a tribal feel to it compared with at Korovu. They too were fire dancers and they also lit a bonfire on the beach! We spent the evening chatting until late with Steph and Julian. Had a rubbish night sleep as it was far too hot and we had mozzie nets to sleep under! There was torrential rain too which didn't help as I kept wondering if the roof was going to fall in!
