We slept very very very well, so much so that we overslept and missed breakfast! It didn't help that Mark forgot to change the time on his phone so the alarm was set to Aussie time which was no use to us at all!
They took pity on us and we were able to get a little bit of breakfast to keep us going! Once fed we walked across the island to another beach! It was a cool walk through the trees and we saw lots of crabs, including some very big ones!! The tide was in so we had to come back! We chilled in the gardens overlooking the beach and the sea, snoozing and reading until lunchtime! We watched the goodbye song that the staff sing when people leave the island. The Fijians definitely like their music and dancing!
We spent much of the day chilling in the hammocks and sun loungers! It was hot but lovely and quite windy at times! Just right, very comfortable! Mark was happy as he had a buddy to play football with so was occupied for a while! We also made friends with the resident dogs! One was very cute and dopey looking!
We wandered over to the other beach again and were in luck with the tide so walked along it towards another resort. It was lovely as it was deserted and we could collect shells!!
We decided to watch the sunset from the peak of the mountain on the island, overlooking the resort. We were told that it was an easy walk but it wasn't, far from it in fact!! Much of it was loose soil and it was very steep! We made it to the top but it wasn't particularly impressive! We didn't stay until it was dark as it was dinner time and we didn't fancy making our way back down in the dark! The two dogs from the resort were also at the top for sunset, it was like they were looking out for us, and as soon as we started walking down they came too!
We enjoyed another lovely dinner and had to join in with the Fijian dancing, including the snake dance!
