Sawadee
Today our judgement day started at 6.30am, and we had our last 2 dives to complete to gain our PADI certification.
At 8am we had reached Chumphon Pinnacle, our first dive site. I was feeling a bit queasy as the ride on the boat had a bit of roll and once in the water I fed the fish(was sick!!!) I really hope they liked Jam Pancakes.
There was a slight current but we descended down to 18 metres and had a swim around and saw lots of fish even though the visibility was quite bad at around 7-8 metres. Before we knew it we had to surface and get back on the boat, Dive 3 complete.
We then came back inland to Twins for Dive 4 and it was a lot calmer on the water. We did a free descent without using a rope and we were soon at 15 metres ready to practice our 2 skills ,mask flooding and mask clearing.
I was closest to Justin the instructor so got to go first and got it out of the way then I could relax. It was then onto Mel, shall we say there were a few hithches to start with and she suffered a major panic attack and started flinging her arms everywhere and had to re surface to calm down. Now as you know Mel is pretty scared of the water but she came back down after a few minutes and completed the tasks which was very brave.
This means that we are both officially PADI Open Water Divers and are allowed to dive to 18 metres to look at fish and things.
Talking of fish on these 2 dives we saw Batfish, Groupers, barracudas, Golden Fusiliers and lots more but no turtles or whales today.
After such an eventful morning we just had a couple of hours by the beach taking it easy as we both still felt like we were swaying which apparently happens quite often if the boat ride is rocky.
Tonight at 7pm we are going to watch a DVD of our dives that we did today which should be fun!!!!!
We have a day on the island to look around tomorrow and just relax and have a lie in.
See you Tomorrow
Lots of Love
M & M
