Today has been our second full day of travelling and we have just arrived at Koh Tao our destination for the next 6 days while we try and gain our PADI certificate for diving.

It is still p*ssing it down and it has not stopped now for 36 hours!!! Today has been a real bad travel day. We left Surat Thani at 6am and were in good spirits.The boat that we were due to get was not running so it was a quick blast up the motorway 100km to catch the BIG SAFE FERRY at Don Sak. The crossing was lovely and once in Koh Samui we had another 90 minute wait to catch our boat to Koh Tao.

As is usual in Thailand it was late but more importantly it was small and complete with broken window!!!! It was a 1 hour journey to Ko Pha Ngan and it was a bumpy journey the swell was bad and the boat was rolling but we both managed to stay away from the sickbags!!! We should have stayed on the boat to go to Koh Tao but the skipper told us we had to change boat which in a way we were glad about,s o we boarded a Tuk Tuk and headed to another pier and another boat!!!

The 3rd boat we felt good about as it was a catamaran and it was a 90 minute journey to Koh Tao. Off we went and the first minute was great till we got out of the bay then that is when the sickbags came out. The boat rolled and pitched for the whole 90 minutes and there was vomit flying everywhere. It was not a pretty sight at all even Mel felt left out and had to join in on 3 occasions!!!

I think she must have been scared as she even started rubbing the St Christopher that Nana had given her!!!

Both of us were so glad to get on solid ground and decided that we are not leaving here till we get a sunny day with no cloud as we can't go through that again!!!! We are just in the internet cafe and the rain is still coming down but we have a day in the classroom tomorrow (it's like being back at school!!) to do our theory for the diving so will let you know how it goes.

For now we are quite content just sitting and enjoying solid ground for a few days.
