Well here we are we finally made it into Thailand after worrying about the visas for a few weeks.
After 2 minivans, 2 grumpy drivers and 2 border crossings we have our first 30 days in the Kingdom of Thailand.
As soon as we crossed the border the rain started and it has not stopped all day, our first stop was Hat Yai where we stopped for lunch and changed minivans and driver but he was still grumpy and unhelpful!!!! This is also where the Thais don't follow rules at one point we had 15 people in our 10 seat minivan which made it a little cramped.
As we approached Surat Thani the rain got heavier and the roads were flooded, we had doubts whether the night boat to Koh Tao would go and also whether we wanted to be on it!!!
We were dumped in the middle of Surat Thani in torrential rain and not knowing where to go, luckily we found the boat booking agent easily and found that the boat was not going tonight. Mel did a bit of fancy translating on the phone with the boat man and he found us a hotel for the night and arranged our Tuk Tuk to get here. Plus he is picking us up at 6.30am to take us to the boat so a result there.
By the way we are now only 7 hours behind the UK not 8 as in Malaysia which is a little weird as we have travelled straight up today on the same timezone!!!
Just had a nice Massaman curry and Noddles with pork plus 2 beers each for 5 quid a real bargain. It has been a long one today and me and my numb bum are ready for bed so will try and update from Koh Tao.
Lots of Love
M & M
