Had a really early start to catch the Interislander ferry across to the South Island. The crossing was really smooth and took 3 hours which was pretty good as they can be rough. We are now in Picton and we initially were going to drive straight to Nelson but decided to stop off for the day here. It is a lovely little town and we are staying at a hostel called The Villa it has free tea and coffee, afree hot tub which we have already utilised for a couple of hours today, and best of all free apple crumble and custard every night!!!!
Today we have had a look around town and been up to Karaka Point for a look over the Sound and Bay. And also had a look around Seymour Park we have also seen the 9th oldest boat in the world (Edwin Fox made of teak) and Mel has finished her Harry Potter book as well so a good day all round.Tomorrow we move onto Nelson via the Queen Charlotte Road (supposed to be very scenic) will keep you posted.
Lots of Love M & M
