Well Well Well What a day we have had today. We told you to watch this space. Arrived at Fox Glacier this morning at around 10am and chanced our arm at getting on the HeliHike in the afternoon. Well someone was on our side and we managed to get the last 2 places of the day!!

After a safety brief and fitting of boots we were off in the helicopter for the short ride up onto the glacier and Mel managed it without throwing up all over the helicopter like in Vegas!!!!!!

We began by fitting our crampons to our boots then set off for a 3 hour hike around the glacier, there were 10 in our group and we had all the top of the glacier to ourselves. We looked at several different things including an ice wave which was really cool. We got to go into several ice caves as well and I tried my hand at ice caving, sliding around in the cave and getting wet but really enjoyable. Before we knew it we had come to the end of our 3 1/2 hours as the helicopter was late but it was the most amazing experience that we both enjoyed so much.

We are back on the ground and aching a lot at the minute but the beer is numbing the pain!!!!! We took so many photos and will try and post them at the next opportunity.
