No more Rome! This morning we boarded a shuttle and headed to Civitavecchia (I will never remember this name), and got on our cruise ship! Saying it's huge is an understatement. There's 15 floors (it's three days later when I'm writing this, and I still get lost), and has so many different shops and restaurants and rooms and bars and ... yikes. It's pretty sweet though. Our room is bigger than our last hotel room, which is awesome. It's been tough getting used to how Europeans fit two people in one room if they aren't a couple. Ian and I have been sleeping on twin beds separated by like 3 inches since our first hotel in Munich. Luckily we don't hate each other as much as we did when we were younger, or this would've never worked. At least Ian has more or less stopped yelling in his sleep. Now he just kicks and/or punches me.
We unpacked in our rooms, and grabbed lunch at one of the six or seven areas you can eat on board. The people working on this ship are so incredibly nice and helpful, and the food is unreal. We all had different kinds of burgers with fries, and all cleared the plate in what seemed like milliseconds. Yum yum. We explored the ship, relaxed in our rooms, and killed a few hours on board.
For dinner we got dressed up and went to the Grand Dining Room. Dress code is "country club casual" so I get to show off all my pretty dresses. Like I said, the food is un-freaking-real. I had some kind of pate or stuffed something for an appy and I could've eaten a giant plate of them. For dinner I had some kind of roast chicken and licked the plate clean.
We were all exhausted (and had a lot of wine for dinner), so passed out early, ready to head on our first excursion in the morning.
