We started the morning rather leisurely after a lateish night and therefore skipped the lounge breakfast and instead headed to tim hortons for some Canadian comfort food. After this was polished off we decided to head down to ground zero.
We hadn't really done much advanced research on this so when we arrived we were faced with what is still a massive building site with not much up close viewing of anything. We had a wander around what we could before deciding there wasn’t too much point in hanging around, you can queue to get into the building site but that didn’t seem like much fun.
We had a very quick look in a shop called century 21 but weren’t feeling it so we headed back uptown and had a look in some shops on 5th Avenue before heading back to the hotel for a bit of a snooze and a freshen up.
It was time for some food again so this time we headed downtown to the lower eastside and a place called Mighty Quinn’s, this was a Texan BBQ place where a mixture of meats and sides was enjoyed tremendously. We then headed up towards Madison square garden for a snoop around where we stumbled upon a pre-game hockey event called rangers town, basically some games, competitions, memorabilia and a couple of ex-players celebrating the New York Rangers being in the playoffs. We hung around for a bit and watched the ex-players taking some shots and played spin the wheel to win some stickers and a puck before heading across to the official viewing party pub ,since the game was in Philadelphia. The bar was pretty packed so the atmosphere was good, although the rangers went behind early so it died down a bit.
After the game we headed to a Mexican takeaway called Chipotle, picking up some food to take back to the room before bed.
