The excitement of the latest holiday was slightly tempered by the sight of the fog coming in, after keeping an eye on flightradar24 with tuffers in the BA lounge at ABZ (he looked worse for wear and had the same suit on from the night before when we checked why he was in Aberdeen on the tinternet), we were pleased to see our plane land just as the fog lifted.
We arrived slightly late into Heathrow and made our way to the elusive Concorde room entrance door, this lounge is meant for just first passengers and this was the first time we had been in this particular lounge. We picked our first champagne and relaxed for a bit before Mandy headed off for her pre booked massage before Andrew a little bit later. After our massages were over we thought it would be rude not to have some food and therefore shared a club sandwich and some more champagne, our second celeb spot was Ben Kingsley sharing our lounge. We timed our arrival at the plane perfectly as boarding was just finishing.
We took our seats in first and the good food and service began, the flight passed reasonably quickly and included us both having a snooze to help with the jet lag later on and well it would be rude not to when they offer to make a bed up for you.
Our luggage came quickly and we were soon in a yellow cab and on our way to the hotel in midtown Manhattan, hotel check in was quick and after disposing of our bags in the room we headed out to Hooters for some late night snacks and beers. The place was heaving as there was UFC and basketball on the telly so we had a bit of a wait for a table, but it was worth the wait!
After out wings we were heading back to the hotel when we accidently fell into an Irish pub (well, when in Rome) until 3am.
