Mal Beaton
It is time for the holiday to come to an end. 40 days of living out of a suitcase, dining out every day and consuming many drinks. It has been a fantastic trip, not sure if I would do a 6 weeker again. We expected horrendous traffic due to the Memorial Day long weekend but I think we beat the rush. Got into LA about 12.30. The intent was to have a feed at the Saddle Ranch Chop House (SRCH for short cause I am lazy) on Sunset Blvd about 4pm then head to the airport. Headed the the Beverly Centre, a large shopping centre to kill some time. It is just down from Sunset Blvd on La Cienega Blvd. you would have seen this Blvd on any of the LA shows, it seems to be in every LA show. LA is still as crazy as ever eith wacky people all over the place. Time killed we headed to SRCH, the only parking option is valet parking (oh well this is Hollywood). SRCH is a bit of an icon in LA especially Hollywood. If you are into Baby Back Pork Spare Ribs as I am, you will love the ribs here. They are up there with the best ribs I have had in America to date. They also have a mechanical bull in the centre for customers use, which makes for some interesting viewing. It is also great to sit there, have a few drinks and watch the world go by on Sunset Blvd, it definitely a different world. To top it off they were playing classic heavy metal and rock today , Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, White Snake, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more. Pleasant afternoon. Dropped the car off, checked in, duty free purchased and into the QANTAS Business Lounge by 6.30pm. Only 4 hours to kill until boarding. Will finish the blog when I get home.
