Up at 5am....Kurt very disturbed....took him for little walk but he was scared of dark.....come 545 Elaine emerged and kurt was all over her....alas he did not have to be alone for 9weeks! Lyn kindly picked us up and took us to airport where we discovered our plane was an hour late....but a long and non eventful trip to Singapore. Arriving in Singapore we had a lovely taxi driver acting as tourism director....really pretty drive into airport from town....lots of huge trees and flower lined streets...say trees are for shade...really need them as is very hot there...of course we came middle of their summer!. fog was crazy....caused from Indonesia burning down forests. Hotel fumara river front was great but we have still to find river....had happy hour from 4 to 9....only way you would buy drink here as was $13 a glass....great piano player and lady entertainer in waterfall bar! Singapore is really clean, impossible to find a normal restaurant and drinks are crazy prices everywhere. Bad news....had a fax from apt and first few days of our cruise is changed to bus and hotels due to unprecedented floods in Europe....
