Well another wet and cold day...we are all nervous about if our ship can get to amsterdam...before this rain the rivers are so high there is only a few inches from top deck to bridges....they are closing top deck for 5 days....all chairs, bikes, etc are removed to give room to go under bridges....so you can see we can't afford rivers to rise any more! Well...what a change! Woke up first day on ship and weather changed from sunny 38 degrees to cold and very wet 10degrees. It just poured all day and forecast does not look much better. Well we had to be up and bags outside hotel room at 6:30....so downstairs for lovely breakfast....then hang out till all our bags got brought downstairs and identified by us...another hot budapest day. Tour of Budapest included a stop at opera house where we looked at the main hall as well as king and queens boxes. We had a glass of champagne while someone performed for us....very interesting! Next stop was the hero square where a statue of all their leaders was....

Well we started our cruise today by checking into the Marriott hotel at 9:30. It is right on the river and is beautiful. We were lucky enough to be given a room right away and it had a beautiful view of the river. Well finally I got myself up and out walking for some excercise! Budapest is obviously a night city....nothing opens till 10am....the bus tours don't start till 11am! At 6am the streets are bare other than the street sweeper and maybe a few keen shop owners who are washing the pavement in front of their shops.
