It wasnt too far to Melbourne so in the morning we set out to get there early. We were going to meet up with Gem, Jen and Carrie who had made their way down from Sydney a few days earlier.

First night there we went to meet an old friend of mine who i used to work with in London and had now moved back to Melbourne where he was from. He invited me and Kelly round for dinner so we went round and had a catch up. It was also a chance to see the suburbs of Melbourne.

We had one more night with the van so we parked in a car park overlooking the beach and sea and got all our stuff ready to take back the van the follwing day.

We woke up in the morning to find that we had been given a ticket! ah b*****, but oh well, just got on with it. We dropped the van back in what seemd like a bit of a dogey area outside of melbourne so we had to then find a way back using busses and trains but we finally go there and got a hostel. We then headed out to meet the girls and went out to St Kilda for a night out and to see the penguins. Yes.. Penguins, there is a long peer with rocks at the end where at night a colony of penguins comes up and nests. It was pretty cool seeing them, they are cute little things :)

The next day it was time to say bye to Kell, she was off back up to the whitsundays to work on a boat while i went off to New Zealand with the girls.
