Date: 22nd July 2011
Place: Brisbane to Rainbow Beach
Weather: Sunny
Lizzie had said she would call me at around 8.30am so I set my alarm for 8.15am. Well she called just before my alarm went off so my throat was croaky and I had to leave the room before I woke anyone up. I basically had to talk to her about what I thought of all the experiences and whether I would pay the money for things. We also spoke about whether I thought it was possible to see Brisbane on a budget. I thought it definitely was. There were loads of free things to do there like and other cheap stuff too like hiring the bikes out and just seeing things like the botanical gardens and going along the river.
She said she would call me later to arrange a time to meet to give the change and receipts back. She never called though and I got on the bus with an extra $30 J Along the way we stopped off at a place for lunch where I got a subway and sat with the group and found out most of them were stopping at Noosa. There was also a girl who had been in the Down Under bar as well the night before and her drink had been spiked. She wasn't doing very well that day apparently and her friends had really struggled to get her up that morning.
After another stint on the bus we stopped off at Noosa and had an hour there whilst we waited for the people who were being picked up from there. The beach was really nice and we had a quick walk along it before heading back to the bus. I fell asleep on this part of the journey.
When we got to Rainbow Beach we checked in and thankfully my card had finally worked to pay for the trip and reserve it after having some trouble with it before. I met a German girl called Laura on the bus who decided to do the trip with me. We both stayed in the same dorm and met a group of girls who had just got back from Fraser Island and said it was awesome. There was also a couple who were coming on the same trip as us J.
The girls who had just got back from Fraser Island were going to get some fish and chips so we decided to join them. It was lovely and pretty cheap really in Australian terms. They told us about their trip and some tips for our Fraser Island tour. We then head back to the hostel were we joined some other people who had been in their group. From what they were all saying the Fraser Island trip had been very heavy so I wanted to catch up from all my lack of sleep before I got there so we head back to the room to calm down pretty early and I just had a chill out for a while before going to sleep.
