Absolutely froze my titties off last night. We're in wooden chalets and i couldn't figure out how to heat it. So I put shed loads of clothes on and shivered for most the night.
Up bright and breezy for a call to home. Then loaded onto the bus for the trip to Yosemite National Park. When we got there we were told we could join the guide on a hike to the mountain top or do our own thing. I opted to do my own thing and explored the park for 3 hours by myself. David Bailey style. It felt great to have some photography time. I was dead excited when I heard there was an Ansel Adams gallery. I love his photography. But when I got there it was being refurbished. Sad times.
So I jumped on a shuttle and then just walked for a few hours. Decided to take a short cut through the forest but then got creeped out when I remembered there are 300 bears in the forest as well as coyotes and mountain lions. So after 20 mins I went back onto the main road.
Have some beautiful photos. My favourite of which is the cover photo for this blog post. We were due back on the bus at 2pm. But Liam, another member of our group had climbed the mountain and dislocated his ankle. Luckily he was with a few nurses on our tour and some other guys. The Rangers wouldn't get him so the guys had to carry him down. It was apparently a steep incline so they did a pretty good job.
I'm just back at the lodge now and the sun is going down. sunsets are coming round very quickly now. Off for dinner at the resort restaurant, then having an early night. Tomorrow we're off to the one place I've been looking forward to the whole trip.... San Francisco.
