Today was Niagara Falls! I'd been told it was really touristy (and tacky), so wasn't quite sure what to expect of the day. We got the bus round the lake to Niagara. Our first stop was the chopper. A 12 minute flight over the falls. It did look pretty spectacular - but if I'm honest the Grand Canyon was definitely more impressive from the air. Still worth doing though! No-one was sick this time (Ellen) lol. Although Kerry did tell a Chinese tourist if he took her seat on the bus she'd give him a leg and a wing off it. Lol. So still a bit of excitement.
After the chopper, we went to Table Rock, a spot right on the edge of Horseshoe Falls. I couldn't get over the speed of the water, how clean it looked and how inviting it was. Ah to have a swim lol.
We then had a few hours to take in the falls at our own pace. We had a pre-booked boat ride on the Hornblower, so packed all our cameras away, donned a poncho and jumped to the front of the boat. Wowza!!! If you're going to do anything at Niagara - do that! Yes you get soaked, but you hear the full power of the water and experience something truly magical!
We got off the boat and realised we were burning... extremely lucky to have had such great weather so far. I was hungry by this point so I had a burger and poutine -yummmmmm. And then we sat watching the falls until it was time to board the bus. There was lots of other things I'd wanted to do, but there just wasn't time. Next time...
The bus took us next, to Niagara on the lake - a lovely little town, really really lovely. I had an ice cream from Canada's best ice cream shop (apparently). It was delish!! Our last stop was a winery, where we did wine sampling - a whole two wines. I hate wine so this wasn't a highlight for me.
Then it was time to head back to Toronto. We've not long got back. Well we've been back about an hour, but we popped for some culinary delights - at Popeyes... look it up! Kinda KFC like... both of us ate more than we should, and both of us are now suffering with dodgy guts haha.
Tonight's plan (it's 9.30) is to look at stuff for tomorrow and the day after. Then bed - we're knackered!!
