Can't remember at all when I last updated and I can't be bothered to check!
I did a blog entry the other day and itdidn't save! So annoyed! It was really long as well.
Anyhoo... Lots to say! The driving first of all - was ok! The car was really old, but it was the best out of the bunch. There are cars at the hostel that don't have brakes, and one of them has 1st and 2nd gear broken, so you have tp start the car in 3rd - God knows how that works! But yeah, mine was ok, it was really old, theres no window in the drivers door, and that door also feels like it's about to fall off - it makes a strange rattling noise when you close it as if it could fall off! But, it was an automatic so a lot easier to drive, and the roads at the times I'm driving are really quiet, and they're really wide and straight so alls good!
Pretty nackered - although feel better today as finished earlier today and yesterday! But usually work from 6am to 7pm... with half hour lunch and 2 ten min breaks, not easy! Am used to it now though! Takes about 35 mins to drive from the hostel to the farm, so had to be up about 4.30am. Not good!
But that's all changed! Haha, I've moved out of the hostel and in with the boss for the next few weeks. Everyone on the farm (about 30 employees) are non english speaking, so think he's quite happy to have someone english to chat to! But yeah, theres no rent and Im like 5 mins away from the farm, so dont have to get up so early and gt a lift in, so dont have to pay for transport like at the hostel!
What else... I'm not just packing anymore. I do a bit of everything which is good as its a bit of variety and makes the days go quicker! I packed courgettes on the first 2 days, then the next day a different type of courgettes. I've been picking and packing squash, and yesterday I was on the trailer washing the courgettes. It's gone really quick actually, I can't believe I've been working here a week now! Everyones really nice, and met some good people!
I don't have much else to report I don't think! Apart from the hostel was s***e, I have to go back and pick up my passport so Ill see if i can get some photos cos I forgot to before! It reminds me of an orphanage!
So yeah thats about it! Having a great time! Love it here, had a bit of an emotional day yesterday! Feel really lucky tio be here and all that jazz! Its pretty here and theres lots of animals about! There was a huge bull in the road the other day, there's horses outside the house, seen frogs, huge lizards and frogs (and spiders!), wallabys and kangaroos around the famr (and snake tracks but no snakes!) and stuff, and its just cool! REally chilled out, gorgeous round here (there's a beach about 40 mins away but not been yet!), its 33 degrees every day, etc - its just great!
Ooo one other things, I got burnt for the first time since I've been here! Fruit picking burns me, or tans me! And so I have stupid marks where my trainers, top and shorts have been!
Bye for now! Think I'm gonna stay here for another 3 or 4 weeks, so prob not much happening til then!xxx
