Happy New Year everyone! Hehe

Had a wicked day on New Years Eve hehe. Got to the park at 10am, and had to start queuing to get into the sectionned off area with the prefect view to the harbour for the fireworks. Got in at about 3.30 in the end, but it was a good afternoon cos it was hot, perfect blue skies! There were looooads of people there, all playing games and drinking and stuff, so was a really good atmosphere!

There were 20,000 people allowed into the section we were at - a point called Mrs Macquarie's Chair - oine of the best views of the harbour! We managed to smuggle some alcohol in, by not breaking the seals on some big bottles of juice! :-) So managed to get about 2 and a hlaf litres of vodka through the gates, even though our bags were searched and stuff. That was sooo good though - drinks in there were so expensive, and it meant that in the end I only spent about 20 bucks! Which is very good!

There were 7of us all together I think - the Christmas Eve crew, my mate Sarah from the Whitsundays trip and an Aussie girl Tash and Adam knew from their old house called Carla. She got soooo drunk, it was hilarious!

The fireworks were amazing! They had pre New Year fireworks at 9pm for the kids, and even they were amazing and wasn't even the main thing! Then they had a couple of random fireworks at like 10.30 and 11.30 which confused us a bit, cos we kept thinking it was time n we'demissed em chatting! Saw loads of people I met from the first week in Oz and randomly up and down the coast! And in front of us in the queue was Beef and the few that live together in Sydney that I met in my first week - out of 20,000 people in the queue we were behind them! (Which turned out to be hell, cos they were all WASTED!)

Then yeah, was very merry and then the fireworks came on and they were amazing! perfect view! Had perfect view of the ones from the harbour bridge, and could see through the trees the fireworks, cos they were coming from all over the harbour an d we were at the centre point. They were coming off the top of the skyscrapers, from behind us, from the beaches, everywwwhhhereeee! haha. And it was cool, cos there were loads and loads of boats moored in the harbour (I was gonna say they were parked in the harbour then, but I don't think you park a boat do ya?!) which was really cool as well, cos it was all dark n there were thousands of boats lit up in the water!

I got a little emotional at the firweworks lol! And then we all left at about 12.30. Had just got into bed (and so had the two German girls in my dorm) and myIrish roommate fella walks in drunk and we all chatted for an hour or so in drunkenness befpore we passed out! But my voice had fully fully gone and everyone was laughing at me! Then I woke up the next morning and the german girls had put some throat sweets on my bed next to my pillow! Haha! Was a bit freaked out they'd got so close to my face when I was asleep and I didn't realise though... Haha! But that was my night anyway!

Had a great time! Loved it and would do it all again next year hehe!
