Well it's 5pm on Saturday - the second day!
Am in a twelve bed dorm at the moment, and yesterday there was only me and this guy called Ian in there, so we went down to the Harbour and wondered around the Circular Quays and the Rocks areas. Went to Sydney Opera house and Harbour Bridge and just generally wondered!
Another 2 guys turned up yesterday afternoon, and today 3 of us went for a walk around the botanical gardens. Saw cock-a-toos roaming round, little parrot things (which I also saw yesterday when I got up and looked out the window!), seen flying foxes, and ibis bird things all just in the park! I wanted to see a wild koala, but I don't think there are any in the city!
Also went into a cathedral today, some little shops, erm... what else?! I hugged a tree! The signs all over the botanical gardens said "please... walk on the grass! Hug the trees, talk to the flowers and sing with the birds!" so I hugged a tree! Went to Mrs Macquirie's (however you spell it!) chair, which is like a big rock seat thing. It looks over the harbour, and apprently Mrs Macquirie was the governor's wife and looked over the new found settlement, back when the first European's came here. All very lovely!
Also went for a little walk over Coogee Beach this morning which was nice as it was really hot and sunny this morning! Clouded over this afternoon though. The sea is very blue! It was quite cold too!
I have LOADS of photos already! I think I have about a million of the opera house and harbour! I'll put them on my flickr account within the next few days!
OzIntro starts on Monday, and I think a few more people from my group have turned up today. But I'll hopefully put my pics on before OzIntro starts, so I can keep my Ozintro pics separate!
Hope everyone is well! And I hope it's raining in England! Hehehe!
Its very sunny here! Its really nice and warm in the sun, but a bit chilly when it goes in! I've still been wearing shorts though - don't worry! Hehe!xx
