Day 101

We had a look around Rotorua as yesterday all the shops were closed, much to Lorna's disgust we bought some hiking boots. Not exactly the height of fashion but just what we needed.

The advice from the shop assistant was not to walk for too long before you've broken the shoes in. So we decided on a 11.5km/3.5 hour walk, ha ha! We actually wanted to do the 24.5km/8 hour walk, although we were glad when our blisters came.

The walk started amoungst the giant Redwoods some of which would've taken 4/5 people to put their arms around. We then headed up and up and up to 525m above sea level to a lookout over Rotorua and beyond. Unfortunately the foliage was hindering our photo view, but it was still beautiful.
