NYE 2013...... Wow. Time does fly when you're having fun haha.
The last few weeks in Springsure were crazy! A new backpacker arrived called Evelin from Estonia and the accommodation park became fully booked so it was manic busy. We had a little Springsure family though, me Evelin and a bunch of amazing guys from a drilling company. Few wild nights and general good chat kept me sane in the last fortnight. Was hard leaving and saying goodbye as usual. My farm boss gave me the Bariano dress I wore in the fashion show as a present(!!!!!!!!!) and I have the option to go back when i run out of cash. I will miss too many people! Springvegas xxx
Flight to Sydney was INCREDIBLE - a row of 3 seats to myself, watching Horrible bosses drinking wine... Haha. Arrived at the hostel to my fave Simon waiting on me at the door (my non gay best friend as we have renamed him hahaha GBF for short!).
Danny arrived the next day from Thailand and we went to meet all his mates at Coogee Beach the next day (also caught up with a girl I worked with in Maga and Clare from Brisbane) which was an absolute riot. In bed by 8pm - very drunk haha.
By Christmas Eve the rest arrived - Scott, Chris and then Helen who's flight was majorly delayed so it was a nice manic, mad rush to get ready for the Christmas Eve fancy Dress Boat Party. Tartan material at the ready and a freedom speech bubble sign...... We were going as braveheart haha. Simon went as a Christmas Tree (actual hilarious) and Chris and Scott went as Pikatchu and Ash haha. Caught up with loads of people and had such a good night. The sights of Sydney Harbour at night is just beautiful.
We were up early Christmas Day hammering into the Ciders haha. The Hostel we are at put on such a good day - it had started raining really heavy so it technically wasn't a BBQ but they set up big long tables like a proper Christmas dinner with free goon and food, party hats and crackers etc so it was SO cute sitting with everyone! Christmas Night we went to Sunburnt which was an event hosted by Gary from Geordie Shore (twat) but again the rain fell like I have never experienced in my life! I was soaked worse than TITP and Creamfields put together haha. The music was dynamite though and it was a sort of mini festival with stages outside as well as VIP Pukka Up Party on the top floor of the venue. If the sun had been shining we probably wouldn't have had as much fun......
Boxing Day the girls decided to have a trip without the boys so myself, Helen and Sarah from my room went into Town and had drinks at the Opera bar and a proper Tommy Tourist day haha. We went from there to Darling Harbour and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe (we sat there for 4 hours!), got some amazing pictures!
The hostel put on another proper BBQ down at Bronte Beach so we bought another few crates of cider and got very merry as our little family do!
The NY plans are going to be like no other.... Fireworks - the biggest in the world, then at 3am we are going on a boat party until 7am........... Then Helen and I are going on another boat party at midday?! MESS!
I also got prices for the travels so on the 6th if January u think I am going to head to Brisbane and travel up as far as Cairns.... Watch this space :)
I don't think there's much else I can say or do that describes 2013. I feel like I've changed my outlook and attitude, I've learned to appreciate what truly matters and I have literally lived the dream.... And it's about to get even better! The people I have met along the way are second to none. Backpackers and Backpacking is without a doubt the best experience anyone can ever go through. You throw yourself out your comfort zone and learn things you never imagined. I never ever ever want this experience to end! Probably just as well I got my 2nd year visa then eh.........
Happy new Year everyone, live the dream! Xxx
