20th Feb - We left Wanaka early to make our way to the place we'd all been waiting for... Queenstown!! Our first stop was Puzzling World. We didn't want to pay to go inside so we ended up attempting to do some free puzzles outside but shortly gave up. Stu was determined to finish a puzzle so spent an hour trying to complete it but failed. Myself and the girls sat outside in the sunshine chatting away before we had to get back on the bus; myself and Hannah skipped back on to bus (literally). We drove through the Kawarau gorge, where the terrain was rocky!
On the way, Vaughan (our bus driver) handed out the sign up sheet for the bungy jump. Stu was already doing it so had already put their name down but Hannah and Kylie weren't. Stu decided to get his salesman hat on and managed to persuade both Kylie and Hannah to do it!! They both put their names down. There was absolutely no way I was going to do it, wimp of the century, so he didn't even bother trying with me. I did however say that I MIGHT (might, being the pivotal word) go up to the bungee platform with them, to support and watch them jump! Joey, a guy on our bus, kindly gave me a Valium just incase!!
We next stopped at the original Hackett bungy jump which was the first ever bungy jump in the world which dunks you into the river below. Everyone booked their jump here, whether it was that one or the big Nevis bungy that is 134 metres high! Of course the girls and Stu picked Nevis, the bloody highest one!! Eeek! I was nervous for them!!! We headed on to Queenstown to grab some food before heading to the Nevis office to get a transfer bus to the bungy. When we got there, I asked how much it would cost for me to go and watch. They said $50! I wasn't going to go, unless the guys wanted me to go for moral support, but they all chipped in together to pay for me go (bless them). I was absolutely s***ting my pants though!!! And I wasn't even jumping!
We got in a bus which took about 30-40 minutes to get there. When we arrived, they quickly put everyone in their harnesses (including me!) and then we got whisked into a little cable car that took us to the jumping platform. I looked more nervous than everyone else!! When we were on the platform, everyone gave me their cameras which distracted me. It was stupidly high!!! Stu went first, of course, with no nerves at all. It was very funny though when he came back up upside down! Haha! Then it was Hannah's turn. She looked pretty excited but then just before she jumped she looked a bit nervous! Just after she jumped I shouted 'Love you!!!' - haha you can hear it in the video. Next up was Kylie who was very nervous! But after seeing Hannah's face when she came back up (upside down, too!) it gave her some courage and she went for it!! I felt like a very proud mother; no way could I have done that!! But I still felt like I achieved something for being up there anyway. Kylie and Stu also did the Nevis Swing which myself and Hannah watched! That looked awesome!!
When we got back, everyone was buzzing from the bungy.. Even me! We were excited to see everyone from our old bus who were already at Queenstown. We checked into our room in Nomads which had a balcony and went to find Si and Kilian. We knocked on their door and much to our surprise, we saw Adz!! :D He was meant to leave to go to Australia the night before, but had changed his flight so he could stay a few more days with us!! Best surprise ever! :D
We all got ready to hit the town and headed down to the lake for some drinking games before we went to 1876 bar. Si, Stu and Adam pre-drank a massive bottle of vodka between themselves so Stu ended up getting chucked out and Si was sick so they both went home.
The rest of us survivors headed to the travellers dig World bar, where myself and Joey did drinks rounds for most of the night and we all raved the night away.

Mumi Well done Liz. Brave girl for making it to the bungee platform. I would definitely not have been able to do that!
