4th Feb - da da da... it was finally time to leave Paihia and boy couldn't we wait! We were fed up of the rain and had checked out all of the bars, so it was definitely time to move onto something new.

We headed back to Auckland, in order to get the bus the next day down to Hot Water Beach. After we checked in at the Base hostel we headed upstairs to take a look at the bar. We ended up bumping into a few of the boys who we had met on Paihia , one of them including Essex boy Stuart. We had planned to have an early night... But they persuaded us to play some drinking games with them and we ended up going out to a club then macdonalds. Classy!

5th Feb - Another early start... Another hangover... We boarded our bus to Hot Water Beach! We were glad to see the girls Charlotte, Rosie and Johanna that we met in Paihia on the bus with us. Our driver was called Steve, a proper lively Kiwi. Tonight we were staying in Hot Water Beach Holiday Park. When we arrived, all of us girls got a room together and then headed to Cathedral Cove which had a beautiful beach. We all sunbathed on the beach before me and Hannah decided to brave the freezing cold sea. The waves in the sea were huuuuuge. We had loads of fun 'surfing' the waves and losing our bikinis on the way.

We went back to the holiday park and had a BBQ with the group. We got to know everyone and I headed for a nap. By the time I woke up, people were already playing drinking games.. Ring of fire to be precise! Doh! Joining the game after I had just woken up was a bad decision, as I was losing miserably and making up for lost time!

After we had finished our booze, we headed down to hot water beach as it was low tide. Hot water beach is rated as one of the world's top 10 beaches. We took some spades down with us and dug our own hot water pool in the sand. Well, that was the plan.. But luckily for us, someone had already done them for us! The pools were scorching hot!! I lay in the pool and got talking to a Mexican guy on our bus called Andres who was really sweet. We headed back to the holiday park after about an hour and a half on the beach and went to bed.
