The raincoats were out this morning as we embarked on the Grande Depart, a pretty emotional moment.
The Journey was interesting.
· First of all we saw a taxi, same as the one we were in, on its side due to incautious driving on these rollercoaster roads. Everybody immediately belted up.
· The hour and a half wait at the bus station involved us eating super noodles, the same we would have for breakfast at the orphanage. It was surprisingly nostalgic and they are not actually that bad.
· The change given to us when buying said noodles was bizarre - 1 baht coins with a number 2 written on them in marker pen...... same same....... This was the answer given when questioned.
· 12 hours later we arrived in Bangkok, a positive of this is that we are learning how to travel. We had loads to eat on this journey instead of the usual rationed packet of veg flavoured crisps.
On arrival, Bangkok did not seem the scary place it was 2 months ago but familiar haven of cheap food, drinks and live music.
