Nervous Turkey!
Beerwah to Brisbane
100km to go.....
The hardest task of the day is to find a public refuge point on a campsite to empty the dirty water from the van. That's what it said in the manual. Matt read it as.... Wait till nobody is watching then dump it on some grass. We had only used it for washing our hands so no biggy.
After luckily finding the place to drop the van off, we grabbed a taxi to take us and our growing bags to the train station. The taxi drivers must be well paid here. The meter starts on $3.50 and goes up as usual however not on distance, on time. So imagine this....us sat waiting at traffic lights for $2.50, our faces glared at the meter. On pulling up Matt handed over the money on the meter to be told it wasn't enough as a $1.50 call out charge is added. That is $7.50 before you even set off!
A train and a bus later we arrived back at uncle Stu and Kay's pad. Hot water was the only thing we were bothered about on arrival and we were both in need of a decent shower to tell the truth. It felt like luxury just being able to unpack onto the shelves in the bedroom.
When we surprised the girls at school we got an even bigger welcome than before and we had only seen then a few weeks agos. Now it's time to make the most the time with them as who knows how old they will be the next time we see them after this visit. Some beers with Stu and Kay's neighbours was the perfect way to relax.
